David is from the Miles City, Montana area. From an early age, David’s artistic passions have been greatly influenced and shaped by his Western surroundings, as well as his family’s deep roots in the ranching way of life.
His oil paintings portray cowboys and horses, as well as wildlife and Native Americans. He gains his inspiration from time spent in the saddle and hiking back-country trails. The history of the West also captivates David’s imagination. The land, the people, and the wildlife of this area all ensure that he will never lack for ideas when he puts paint to canvas.
Today, David lives in the Yellowstone River valley between Miles City and Glendive in eastern Montana. He enjoys homesteading on his small parcel of land, cultivating a small apple orchard and growing vegetables and fruits, and taking care of a small flock of animals. He generally surrounds himself with everything he likes to paint.
