I was searching for an activity to fill the empty nest syndrome by using the process of elimination and discovered copper. This process included upholstery, sewing, painting, basketweaving – all of which were forgotten when I took a copper pendant making class. Not willing to invest a lot of money in this new venture I opted to use salvaged materials – copper roofing, wire and even pieces of copper pipe. Since the majority of my materials were ‘rescued’ and reprocessed, repurposed, recycled, and/or reborn, the name of my business “Re-“ was chosen.
Growing up as number 8 of 13 children, we often repurposed materials which I believe played a role in my new hobby.
