As a staple in the ag community, the Black Hills Stock Show has become an epicenter for commerce, education and connection that far transcend the boundaries of the growing Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Building upon the blocks of offering our best stock show yet, spectators can expect to see all of their favorite vendors out in full force, as well as take in the spectacle that is our 275 cattlemen presenting (and selling) their prized cattle and countless youth taking part in our youth show. In a year where these individuals have had fewer opportunities than ever to showcase their hard work, the stock show provides each and every single represented cattleman a platform to take their businesses and craft to the next level in 2021.
But the excitement doesn’t stop there. We’re bringing our iconic Horse and Cattle Sales to viewers across the nation and around the world with state-of-the-art, real-time online auctioning and ramping up our efforts to give youth from across the nation the ability to showcase their hard work through our greatly expanded Youth Show. We’ve even integrated national horse events with the AQHA into our expanded itinerary, kicking off on January 16th. In short, the Black Hills Stock Show has taken the bull by the horns in developing programming that appeals and invites ranchers from around the United States to beautiful South Dakota.
Black Hills Stock Show Livestock/Marketing Director Amanda Kammerer sees great value in the Black Hills Stock Show’s ability to bring together the ag community for the first time in nearly a year.
“We’re in a unique position to provide a space for the ag community to safely come out and celebrate their unprecedented work from the last 12 months,” said Kammerer. “Seeing the expansion of our Youth Show and with our auction livestreaming, we’ll be reaching more people than ever before – many of whom will convert to future consignors themselves. No matter how you paint the picture, this year’s show is certain to create a positive rippling effect for years to come.”
In addition to the action-packed Black Hills Stock Show, attendees can still expect to enjoy the thrill of the PRCA rodeo and our fantastic Stock Show Stampede with amazing performers like Koe Wetzel and Chris Colston joining all of the fun at the James Kjerstad Event Center. (If you still haven’t purchased your tickets, you can order them here!)
No matter your appetite for fun, the 2021 Black Hills Stock Show is ready to make waves in the community, state and across the nation. We hope to see you there, January 29th – February 6th, 2021.
