Black Hills Stock Show® Commercial Heifer Show & Sale
Rapid City, SD—The deadline has been moved to Nov.
15, 2014 to enter the Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc., Commercial Heifer
Show & Sale during the 2015 Black Hills Stock Show®. The earlier entry
deadline allows for the cataloging of the entries in the official Black Hills
Stock Show Livestock Guide.
“We wanted to give our commercial cow-calf producers the
same recognition as our seedstock producers that participate in the Black Hills
Stock Show,” said Julie Maude, Livestock Committee co-chairman. “The earlier
deadline allows us to catalog the lots for a larger audience.”
The first 25 consignors who enter a pen of commercial
replacement heifers will receive one night of free lodging at the Boehringer
Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. host hotel. The Commercial Heifer Show & Sale to
be held Sunday, Feb. 1, offers $3,000 in prize money and a low 2 percent
commission rate at the sale.
The first weekend of Black Hills Stock Show focuses on the
commercial cow-calf producer. The Black Hills Stock Show® is
finalizing speakers and details for a cow-calf symposium on Saturday, Jan. 31.
The next morning, Feb. 1, Commercial Cattlemen’s Day at the Black Hills Stock
Show begins with a steak and eggs breakfast at the Central States Fairgrounds,
followed by a short educational program and then the show
and sale.
