One of the regions top horse sales, Black Hills Stock Show is the premier event to sell and purchase top horses. The horse sale preview begins each morning at 8am in the James Kjerstad Event Center with the sales starting at 1pm.

Hutchison Western will present jackets for the high selling horse on both Friday and Saturday. Jackets will be presented to both the buyer and the consignor.

The 2024 Farm Credit Services Horse Sale Consignments close on November 15th at 11:59pm.

NEW IN 2024: Consignments will need to submit the following information: Application (online is the recommended method), copy of registration paperwork, and consignment fee. Upon selection to the sale, registered horses will need to have an original registration and signed transfer mailed to: 800 San Francisco St, Rapid City, SD 57701 by January 1st. If original registration arrives and is not in consignors name, the horse will be removed from the sale. BHSS does not take double transfers.

NEW IN 2024: Due to the number of applications we receive, if applications arrive late, are not complete, or horses are not in the consignors name, they will not be accepted to the sale.

Please note: We will be moving to a fully online application process starting in 2025. Filling out the online application this year is highly recommended to get used to the process before it is mandatory.
